CES 2016 has started off and I am going to bring you the news and interesting devices which tech companies show off here. Every major or small company in tech industry is present at this event from Samsung to Lenovo, BMW to Ford; so lots of juicy and interesting things to come. Can’t wait! Lenovo: They came they conquer
Lenovo is the market leader in windows devices around the world and when you are at the top the table you are required to bring your A game to the table every time. This year was no different for Lenovo presented an array of interesting and nice devices for you to own.
1. YOGA 900S
It is touted as the thinnest convertible laptop in world. It measures just 12.8mm and weighs 999gms. The device is made of Carbon Fibre a material used to make super cars Yoga 900S is something to really look forward to. The device is powered by Intel 6th Generation Core M7 processor with up to 8GB RAM and 512GB PCIe SSD storage. It also has support for active pen on its 12.5” QHD display.
Lenovo has placed a 54Wh battery and claims Yoga 900S to have 10.5 hours battery backup.Priced starting at $1099 the device will be available from March later this year. I will definitely be looking to get my hands on this look beautiful plus it will give better portability with its light weight and a nice battery backup.
2. X1 Tablet
With this tablet the company is aiming at users who want a full PC in a tablet size of 12”. And Lenovo did come up with something interesting with Thinkpad X1. Thinkpad X1 tablet comes with a built in kickstand, support for microSD card, USB-C and USB 3.0. The device comes with a 2160 x 1440 FHD+ 12” display with 3:2 aspect ratio. The tablet has support for active pen and will work well in note taking. You can also get an optional keyboard that connects with the tablet and improve the functionality of the tablet.
3. ThinkPad X1 Yoga
Another class act from Lenovo this year. It comes with a touch display and is also a 2-in-1 device. Well, X1 Yoga comes with OLED display and this feature will make it a standout in market. OLED displays have been in use on TVs but for a laptop it is a first. X1 Yoga comes with Intel 6th Generation processor and you can configure your device from company’s website. You can choose between Core i5 and Core i7, RAM up to 16GB and 1TB of PCIe SSD storage can be selected. For security there is a fingerprint reader. Using OLED display does bring down the battery backup of the X1 Yoga to about 2 hours as compared to the non-OLED one.
X1 Yoga also comes in Full HD and QWHD IPS display, Lenovo is giving everyone a choice to choose a screen of their liking. X1 Yoga comes with active stylus which can be stored in the laptop itself without fear of losing it. The stylus can be charged in just 15 seconds and will give a battery life of 90 minutes which is really nice. X1 Yoga is priced starting at $1499 and will be available from January, OLED version will be available later in April this year.
4. ThinkPad X1 Carbon
Another offering from Lenovo this year, and the company has revamped this laptop line making it a worthy upgrade. This year Lenovo removed the touch screen part from X1 Carbon and introduced a new line X1 Yoga which we have seen above. It is good from Lenovo as not all people who work on a 14” device want a touch screen. X1 Carbon uses Intel Skylake Core i5 and Core i7 processor.
X1 Carbon has two variants for display Full HD and WQHD. Lenovo is claiming a battery life of 11 hours for X1 Carbon. X1 Carbon is priced at $1299 and is a worth choice for business users.
