CAST by GENII is a new KickStarter project which aims to change the way we consume our TV entertainment. Cast plans to live stream your TV content to your friends and family which allows you to watch movies, games and other TV shows together even when you are in different continent. Cast works like a community viewing club to connect all your devices by just CAST device and CAST app.
Cast allows you to live stream your content anytime, anywhere and to anyone; for that just invite your friends and then you all can watch movies, sports, or can even play games together. Cast also has a chat function, instant video chat with friends on the same screen as the movie, which is really nice. It’s like watch a movie on Skype video chat together.
Cast is working towards bringing people closer to eachother, as you can’t be at two places at the same time and usually miss on some beautiful moments of life. Well, Cast is working to bridge the long distance gap between friends and families. You can enjoy your favourite entertainment together in real-time. Cast is turning your sofa into a digital one, while enjoying your content. Cast has already won the KickStarter innovation award, and this new amazing technology is expected to be in your hands by October this year.
Cast does support Netflix, HBO, Amazon, Hulu, NBA, NFL and many more content providers. You can even watch YouTube videos and play games such as Angry Birds, Clash of Clans and Minecraft using Cast. You can share your subscribed content to your friends if even they do not subscribe to that channel or are in region where the content is not available, all you need to do is share your content to CAST and your friends can enjoy. The CAST will be shipped worldwide and the full retail price of the CAST by GENII Box is $299 and CAST by GENII Hub is $399.
According to GENII’s co-founder Frederic Robert, the app doesn’t violate the rules of streaming services, as it will be just like sharing content with people sitting on your sofa, “but it’s a virtual sofa”. In addition, content will only be shared with your close circle of acquaintances, so others will be able to share your content as long as you’re watching it as well.
