Xiaomi has launched its latest offering Redmi Note 3 in India on March 3. At an event in New Delhi, Hugo Barra VP, Xiaomi launched the phone for the public. Redmi Note 3 continues with the tradition of Xiaomi bringing super nice specs and features in decently priced phones. It was expected of Xiaomi to bring the Redmi Note 3 with competitive pricing, and they have done a spectacular job at it. The first sale of phone is already done and dusted on March 9 last week and the phone was out of stock in a matter of seconds.
When is next Redmi Note 3 sale?
If you missed out don’t be disheartened there is another sale happening this coming week on March 16. The phone is available exclusively on Amazon India and obviously Xiaomi’s website as well. But to get your hands on the phone, you have to register on Amazon India and Xiaomi’s website for the second sale happening on March 16.
The phone will be available in Gold on Xiaomi’s website. On Amazon the phone will be available in all three colors Silver, Dark Grey and Gold.
Competition to Redmi Note 3
When the first Redmi Note was launched in India Xiaomi captured the imagination of Indian masses with its pricing, but times are changing now. New competitors are bringing phones are lower and lower price point. Recently two new phones were launched in India and both of which were instant hit with the public. The two phones are Lenovo Vibe K4 Note and Letv’s (LeEco) Le1S. Both these phone sold like hot cakes with their pricing just under INR 12,000/-.

Redmi Note 3 comes in a sleek Aluminium body measuring in at 150mm x 76mm x 8.65mm and weighs in at 164g which is impressive considering the metal body. The phone has a 5.5” IPS LCD screen with 1920 x 1080p resolution and 401ppi pixel density.
The Redmi Note 3 packs Snapdragon 650 chipset with quad-core 1.4Ghz Cortex-A53 & dual-core 1.8Ghz Cortex-A72 processor. The phone has an Adreno 510 GPU, and runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with MIUI 7.0 running on top of the OS.
With Redmi Note 3, Xiaomi has added support for 3 new Indic languages Nepali, Oriya and Urdu; increasing the total number of Indic languages to 13. The Indic languages supported in MIUI are Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Marathi, Assamese, Bengali, Malayalam, Telugu, Gujarati, Punjabi, Nepali, Oriya and Urdu.
The Redmi Note 3 is a first in many ways, the first of the Note series phone to have a metal body, the first one to introduce fingerprint sensor. The phone will come in three colours Silver, Grey and Gold.
Redmi Note 3 also support microSD card up to 128GB, which allows you to store more data in the phone. The phone is dual sim with support for India 4G bands (band 3, 5, 40 and 41) also the phone supports VoLTE calling to give better voice and video calling experience.
For connectivity the phone supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, WiFi Direct and hotspot. The phone has Bluetooth v4.1, A2DP, LE and microUSB 2.0, along this the phone has support for USB OTG which is a nice plus.
Redmi Note 3 comes with a huge 4050mAh battery which should be more than enough to power the big screen. The phone has a 16MP camera on the back with f/2.0, phase detection autofocus and dual LED flash. On the front there is 5MP camera with f/2.0.
