In today’s day and time technology is moving in every aspect of our life, but even with its advancements technology leaves some users behind. However, slowly and surely things are changing with the devices like BLITAB — which is a tablet for blind people. There is another product coming to market for people with disability who cannot use their hands to use modern day device.
The new device is named GlassOuse (Glasses+Mouse) — it replaces a mouse and allows the people to use their head instead of hands to control and click the mouse pointer. The device works with all modern OS: Android (Mobile, Tablet PC, TV), Windows(Mobile, Tablet PC, TV, PC), Linux (Tablet PC, PC) and Mac.
GlassOuse connects via Bluetooth and a CEBA GlassOuse app with other devices. The user wears the glass device and the motion sensors in GlassOuse tracks and controls the mouse pointer on the screen. There is a curved mouthpiece which looks similar to a headset microphone and this works as a button to click.
GlassOuse is created by Mehmet Nemo, an electrical engineer with the double diploma and owner of CEBA Battery & ENEMOB HK Ltd. He is also the founder of many other companies and is based in China. The idea behind the device was inspired due to his disabled friend having a problem using technology.
The Indiegogo campaign has already reached its goal of $10,000 but is still open for other customers as well. The first 100 orders are shipped at $149 plus $30 shipping worldwide. If you do not need the GlassOuse for yourself you can still help out by donating via ‘non-profit’ perks. The non-profit perk the sale price is set at $70 only which will cover only the manufacturing cost, the company will donate the number of GlassOuse to users as per the donations collected so if you feel like helping out then head over to the project page at Indiegogo .
The device is not only designed to be user-friendly but is also pretty lightweight at just 49 grams. It comes with a high-sensitivity and auto calibration. It has 3300mAh 3.7v Li-Po CEBA battery which will give nearly a runtime of fifteen hours on single charge. The bite click of GlassOuse is antibacterial and is waterproof and is tested 50,000 times under a load of 3 tons to give quality satisfaction to the customer.
GlassOuse looks to be a nice device for people who due to some issue are not able to use current modern devices. If you think of someone who can benefit from this device then definitely tell them about this device.
